There are other indian comics that many people are not aware of, at least I was not until a few years ago. These comics are also as amazing as "Amar Chitra Katha", and I have found a few digital copies only not all, as I am not sure where to buy or get them.

If you have not heard of it, you are not alone. But if you ever get a chance, you should check these comics. chitra katha out, they are very cool.

Indian Comics

I have been collecting Indian and US comics for sometimes, but not avid collector, just for sake for myself. I am more in to picture stories or "Chitra Katha" from india as I like the stories and art inside.

For longest time, I did not know how many titles or how many comic books existed. Most people knows about "Amar Chitra Katha" comics, there are also Indrajaal comics, Manoj Comics, Radha Comics, Aadarsh Chitra Katha, Chaturang Katha and many many more ...

I finally got completed list from web here, and started to see which I had in either physical copy or e-copy and I realized that I have some long way to go. Hardest part if some of Amar Chitra Katha or ACKs retired but never republish the copy in to circulation, so that meant only way to get copy was to buy it from second hand vendor or person, which is sometimes very hard to find, at least for me.

 Chaturang Katha (CK)

 
Chaturang (or Chaturanga), literally "four colors" or "four aspects", is best known as the Indian ancestor of chess but is also used in many other contexts. The IBH Chaturang Katha series, which consists mostly if not all of love stories, was apparently published between 1976 and 1980 and had at least 18 titles, the lowest known issue number being #501, the highest #517. Some were later reprinted in the original ACK series proper, though perhaps with the title changed. There were apparently 20 titles in all, including the 16 listed on this back cover (thanks again to Ajay Misra; many can be downloaded online from here):

Amar Chitra Katha : Indian Comics

I grew up reading "Amar Chitra Katha" or also known as "Immortal Picture Stories". However, as I got older, I stopped caring for those Indian comic books as I thought to be for kids only.

However, as I have kids of my own, I am beginning to appreciate kiddies things from my past and it brings back memories. My kids do not know much but they are beginning to read some stories as it is in comic form which they know and like.

Amar Chitra Katha was started in 1967, by Anant Pai, who thought that kids that time did not know much about Indian culture and he wanted to change that. First 10 Amar chitra was American Fairy tales in various Indian languages and from number 11 started with story of Krishna. Now Amar Chitra Katha is owned by ACK media from US NRI Indians I believe and they have started adding many news titles to collection. Numbering of comics is bit challenging for me as some of the Amar chitra katha re-released with different numbers.

Many of ACKs are single copy of 32-36 pages, however some of the special editions were over 100 pages. I like some of the art, drawings from old Amar chitra katha.

I like new art, but old Amar Chitra Katha's art is simply supurb and amazing. 

Life _Shelter in Place

This Shelter in place has been going on for past 3 weeks, life is uncertain but one should not lose hope.

There are many things we should be thankful for and count good things that we have. Stay safe and healthy.

There is a few things you can do to beat stress, anxiety and boredom due to covid-19, or Corona Virus.

1. Learn to cook something new while at home, when you can not eat out.

2. Do some home pending projects, like cleaning up junk drawer in kitchen or files the bills.

3. Do crafts with kids. If you do not have kids, still can enjoy crafts for your self or your home.

4. Rest

5. Do yoga and breathing excercise.

6. Can not go out? no worry, walk around yard, apartment balcony for fresh air, even 5 minutes will make you feel good.

7. Social distancing keeps you from your family and friends? find a new way through zoom or google hangout or face time from your home and catch up with them.

8. Ofcourse, some of us may have to work being stuck inside, so focus on work, if you are in reduced work hours or laid off during this covid out break, brush up job related skill while being inside.

9. Learn to reduce spending money, as actually we can not go out to eat, or go to movies, naturally it will save money a bit. We might be spending lot more on grocery or take out.

10. Relax, no matter how hard it might be, there is always good to it, we just need to find it and make lemonade from lemon.
